Materials become most expressive when they are allowed to remain honest, the veining within stone, the unevenness of straw, the pores within wood, and the marks left by the hand are not flaws to be corrected, but records of time, formation, and human presence. Surfaces are approached with restraint, so that each material continues to communicate its own history.
Through this convergence of materials and techniques, the console stands as a quiet expression of how cultures, crafts, and material memories can gather within a single object. It is less a polished product than something more enduring: a piece that carries the evidence of process, labour, and continuity

Dimensions: W75 × D30 x H97 cm

Material: Italian Carrara marble, Spanish black Marqina marble, Oak, Egyptian wheat straw, Brass.

*Available by order within 6-8 weeks

Info: Carved from travertine and balanced with oak through a single brass connection, the Travertine Console is a study in restraint, where proportion, weight, and texture carry the piece. Stone and timber are left raw and minimally treated, so pores, grain, cavities, and knots remain fully exposed, giving the console the feeling of something shaped by slow accumulation over time.
There is a quiet beauty in imperfection: the small cracks, knots, and uneven edges that tell the story of how something came to be. Local Egyptian wheat straw is individually selected, dyed by hand, and assembled into a layered surface that shifts from lighter tones into deeper saturated hues. Rather than functioning as a decorative application, the straw marquetry becomes a material landscape shaped through accumulation. Thesurface rises toward a Breccia marble top whose fragmented geological composition mirrors the layered construction below. A brass connection element joins the two volumes through structural precision while maintaining visual lightness. The work reflects the studio’s continuing exploration into how materials from different origins can coexist without hierarchy. Within the piece, contrast is not treated as opposition, but as interdependence.

Dimensions: W75 × D30 x H97 cm

Material: Egyptian wheat straw, Breccia marble, Brass.

*Available by order within 6-8 weeks
